Rip DVD movies to AVI, MPEG1 or MPEG2 with DVDx

In this how to video, you will learn how to convert DVD movies to AVI or any other type of file for free. First, you will need to download DVDx 2.1 and the install it. Next, open the program and insert the DVD disc you want to copy. Go to file and click DVD root. Find the video and select the video_ts folder. You will see the IFO files. Look for the one with the longest time. Click on this one and press select. If you have a DVD already ripped on your hard drive go to file and click open IFO. Find the location of the ripped DVD and open the video_ts folder. Find the file with VTS and click open. From here, you will see a settings window. Click on enable under luminance. Check Dolby surround and add subtitles if you want. Click on original colors and make sure the audio and video synchronization is checked. Next, click okay and then go to settings. Select output settings. Select the drop down menu and select AVI or any other video file type. Select the Xvid MPG4 codec or the Divx codec. Next, select your resolution and change the zoom to your preference, such as full or wide screen. For re-size, select Bi-linear SSE. Next, press the whole button. Once these are changed. click apply. Lastly, go to file and select output file. Type in the name of the movie by selecting browse. Type in the name of the movie and click save. Click okay and then you are ready to convert the movie. Click on the red button to start the encoding process. Once this is done, you are ready to watch the movie in the new file type.
